Egyptian Media Production City was inaugurated on the outskirts of Cairo, and in 2001, Jordan Media City and Dubai Media City were established in Amman and Dubai, respectively. Other countries followed this trend. This chapter charts the development of media cities in the Middle East and examines their contribution in creating multiplicity and diversity in the Arab broadcasting industry.
